@TheAbbotTrithemius they're not exactly meaningless. They can be very useful to spot trends within the same constellation of polls. So, assume a poll's methodology is flawed in one or more ways (the biggest is usually the sample, like Latinos who mostly speak Spanish being polled in English). Unless there's something to indicate that the pollsters have changed it between polls, we can look at the increasing or decreasing support trends over time.
@TheAbbotTrithemius A problem with nearly all polls is that they don't reflect how we actually select a president, which is through the electoral college.
More useful are state-wide polls in competitive states, which, when weighted by their electoral college importance, have better predictive value.
