Im so angry at nyc ems right now. I was the only non-asian resident to evacuate my high rise bldg. so we all decided to go to the park and destress away from high rise bldgs. aparently the nyc protocol is to stay indoors. meanwhile i fouund cracks in one corner of property that caused a column to crack on 2 sides

@Bliss

I met a lot of my neighbors too when we all ran outside. The went back in rather too quickly I thought, I was like fck that and went for walk. And was in a coffee shop when the EMS alert went off on everyone's phone 45 mins late and everyone laughed... ha ha.. (Glad we can laugh...)

I don't see any damage in my building or apt so far, but no way more damage isn't discovered in time. That was too powerful. I was jolting around on a chair.

Glad to hear you're safe !!

Glad you're safe and stayed outside. I'm exhausted from the aftershocks. I checked the foundation of our high rise bldg both inside and out. Externally found cracks on a free standing column to our entrance and on the sidewalk. The crack below was tge longest one.

@Bliss

I haven’t done that careful an examination. I’ve only felt one aftershock around 6PM it was quick and powerful (4.0 magnitude). And thought I felt one a little after 9PM.

Safety tip: have a Go Bag ready with all your emergency essentials that you will need for 3 days. I have a small rolling back pack with bare essentials (including 3 freeze dried camping meals) that will help me survive anything for 3 days.

Stay safe!

i just read about that 😳

glad you're okay.🙏🏻
