There is a sickness that's always been in the industry (or, at least as long as I've been in it) whereby managers expect Engineers to be brilliant enough to come up with world-changing solutions to problems BUT still stupid enough to not understand:
a) the time-value of money, and
b) that blindly signing FTC documents that could end up sending them to prison if there's a problem is a bad thing...
