@ContentWarningVirusB42 Just havin' a skin fruit kinda night, how about you.

@WhoopassGirl This is true and I'm.. pretty sure you spelled it right?

I'm imagining a two-people-stranded-on-an-island scenario, but even so I would still share. Even if they're clinically psychopathic.

That would raise another ethical question, wouldn't it be in everyones' best interests if I just went ahead and killed them outright first just for being a "bad guy"? I mean, I'm a "good guy" who shares, right? Would killing them be selfishness or self-preservation, both, or neither?

@WhoopassGirl Ifeel like in that situation it would be even more so in ones' best interests to share. No sense in slitting a throat for something that's being freely given.

Now if I was being selfish and deliberately withholding, I can see how violence could come from that, but sharing by ones' own volition and being known as that kind of person would reduce the likelihood of people mentally preparing to slit my throat.

@WhoopassGirl I see it like masks on a plane, you have to take care of yourself first and it's natural to want to. It's healthy to.

Even at the point of wanting, all that matters is what you do. Selfishness is a behavior rather than a mentality. If you and someone else are hungry and you've got one bit of food between you two, it's normal to want the whole thing, but whether or not you would share determines selfishness.

@WhoopassGirl Where's the line between being selfish and just being? It's natural to want but I think being selfish means you want other people to not have.

@Sekhapada I've been a ghost the last few weeks, trying to shake it off a bit. Can't say I've been great but I'm still kickin'. How about yourself?

Happy birthday @MrsE0113 ! Hope you had a good one.

@Qbae Yeah I read about that. It's crazy. Damn crypto miners.

@Qbae Nice to see the game having so much success.

@WhoopassGirl That's the proper way to go about it. Time goes by and it's easy to forget what happened on what particular day, but just having the memories is what matters.

@WhoopassGirl That seems more like practicality than laziness. I'm terrible with dates, idk what day of the week it is half the time. I'd rather have fewer holidays but more significant ones.

@WhoopassGirl Exactly, should be a recovery from the previous holiday season. Upcoming one lands on a Monday. In that situation I'd make the weekend prior a special one but I wouldn't really want it associated with Valentine's Day. I'd save the gifts it for the anniversary.

@lineofstarshine Nailed it, +1 for the massacre.

I don't like my affection being measured by the amount of money I spend on a specific day. It's every other day of the year that matters.

@WhoopassGirl That's the way. 😎 I'd rather cook a nice dinner, maybe go for a walk. If I'm gonna give a special gift I'd rather give it on their birthday or anniversary. Something meaningful.

@evistre And here in Alaska it's basically spring.

@spacesloth I'll agree with this. Nobody gets shot or trampled on Valentine's Day.

Being obligated to give someone a gift or gesture isn't romantic, not when your arm is being twisted and not participating can be interpreted as not really being into the relationship and that's bs. Random acts on any other day are far more effective in showing affection, though much less lucrative for the capitalists.

@SomewhatStableSapiens That's sweet. Is there a reason you chose Groundhog Day?
