"Grass fed beef" on this take out menu... what else do they feed beef? Aren't they always eating grass in a field?
@ErFlynnArt That's terrible.
@Stevo You said it. Which is why I don't touch the stuff.
@ErFlynnArt How the hell did we end up on top of the food chain
@Stevo Grain. They're often fattened up with carbs before selling them for processing.
@kay_dub but if we're talking about chicken, then being grain-fed is considered good?
@Stevo Oh, my sweet Summer child...
@ToolPackinMama Sweet summer child? Why thank you, you're making me forget i'm turning 44 in a month.
@Stevo @ToolPackinMama
Most beef is fed corn. You can just pour it in a trough and they'll sit all day eating it, getting fat and not exercising those meat-muscles. Grass fed beef gets lower grades because it's dryer and tougher (though more healthy), so commercial ground beef operations like McDonalds might buy grass fed beef from other countries and add in extra fat from American cows.
@Stevo You'd be surprised at just awful beef cattle are treated and what they are fed. Most never see or get to wander about a grass covered field in their entire existence.
