We are under Tornado alert in an area that is non known for tornadoes.
News : It's important to have a plan !
Me : I don't even have a basement !

@Resister_Grandma Thanks, I honestly don't really know how though, nobody has shelters or anything so kinda just hoping it blows over, which is an interesting choice of words on my part there.

@Stevo bathtub with a mattress thrown over you is your best bet

@Stevo

Extreme and new weather events are so shocking.

I had my first tornado warning this year too, in an area not known for that.

@Shelter helped tell me what to do.

I ended up waiting it out sitting on a bathroom floor.

Let us know if you need any information relays for your area!

@Stevo

Eeeegads!! 😮 Crossing my fingers and sending a shout-out to the universe to keep you and others safe from harm. ♥️

@Stevo When I was a kid in Oklahoma the whole neighborhood regularly went to one house that had a basement.

They say next best is an interior doorway where extra bracing may protect you. Usually worst is trying to run away, unless you know exactly where the tornado is and can drive at right angle to the path. I saw a lot of crumpled cars in the treetops after a storm.

@walterbays Luckily, the center of the storm system is missing us a little to the north and so far, the only tornado i'm aware of was a little over an hour away. Keeping a close eye on the radar but so far, we appear to be in the clear. I think if things were to get worrisome, i'd get into the bath or center hallway

@Stevo H says since we don't have a basement, we should get a large freezer or two, since after a tornado, we always see vids of freezers intact amidst rubble after a tornado. LOL
