The news media stars are suddenly tense and nervous or clearly medicated. All the things they said about the protests, the shooting of civilians, the economic crash, the diseases.

And then, plodding along, the Hollow Men and Women, they repeat their talking points.

@TLP32 This one isn't too threatening - the Canadian strain of Bird flu that might be human transmissable does. Because we've now got two different human-infecting strains. A breakthrough seems more likely if we've got that kind of breach of the species barrier.

@feloneouscat also we are not in a state to deal with more chaos - climate included. Florida got hit with 3 hurricanes. Bird flu is percolating. There's global stability issues.

If anything goes truly off the rails the news IS NOT READY TO HELP.

I've read a lot of analysis of how the Democrats lost, and a big part that is still not mentioned enough is our media ecosystem. Even when it is mentioned, it's not enough.

We have a commercialized, billionaire-owned media ecosystem that attracted many a syncophant. That is a huge battle and requires everyone engaged.
