@dietotaku I think alot of these beliefs start in their families of origin. I remember Kamala talking a lot about her mom (not so much about her dad at all I think they’re estranged) and how supportive her mom was of her and her ambitions. Many girls (myself included) never get that kind of validation growing up. We’re just expected to take care of everything and everyone and not think of ourselves and what we want. These messages really limit the scope in our thinking of what is possible.

@Horrrflmlvr She probably already had them prepared and she was waiting to see what he would do. If he decided to throw her rights away (which he did) she’d throw away their marriage which is happening now. Women have also been encouraging other women are are already considering divorce to go through with it now because another thing the new regime plans to get rid of is no fault divorce. Which makes it really hard to get divorced.
