@Siren_six Think how dumb the average person is. Now think how half of people are dumber than that.
It holds true for several words besides "dumb".
There's people who prefer to relate to a lousy human being, because it validates that it's okay for _them_ not to be better than they are. They don't want to choose the better person to be in their life, because they hate looking up, and don't want to try and become better.
