I haven't slept in 48 hours so today was definitely not the day for that.
I tried to be patient.
Eventually a point is reached where you don't reply at all because what they've posted out there for everyone else to see illustrates everything completely.
On this platform I fear people don't really parse that.
I am, though, absolutely willing to be tagged into conversations to speak with my fellow white people if I didn't catch the conversation. It's not your job.
It is ours.

I am fully aware that Duke is the NCAA Yankees equivalent.
@Rustbelt_Dem @LiberalLibrarian
I'm a Duke fan.
I'm evil.
I'm also a Phillies fan.
I feel like it balances out.
Big hugs.
Over dinner my 16yo and I just used that thread as learning material.
Because every. Goddamn. Time.
I'm #GenX. Growing up in NYC, with Latins, Blacks, and Asians, I thought my generation had solved racism.
Of course, that was a silly assumption. As a Latino, I've been subjected to bigotry by white Gen-Xers. And as a Latino, I've of course seen my own people inflict the same racism on Black people.
Black people are not going to solve racism, because they've done nothing to cause it. They are the recipients, not the initiators. The conversations will be painful, but it is what it is.
@ATXJane
The most important realization you can have as a white American is to understand that you carry racial bias. You might not like it, but it's the result of decades of your life of being exposed to the indoctrination that is a core value of this nation.
It's uncomfortable. That's good. It should be.
But not one single white person in this country doesn't have it
So rather than telling Black members to talk about what they want- genuinely support that while taking stock
Your actual job as a white man is to call out that shit every time you see it because your voice carries more weight than anyone else's.
That's what you're supposed to do.
The problem I've seen here is that this place is overwhelmed with Nice White People who will #NotAll in the split second after anyone posts about racism.
It's overwhelmingly GenX white and Boomer white, and those two groups are the biggest knee jerkers in the US.
It's absolutely not safe here for Black members to discuss anything specific to their experience.
And that's not politics. It's life. Life in the US is overwhelmingly racist.
RIP Arleen.
You're going to be missed in this world something awful.
@PoliticalEd
Thanks!
For me encouragement doesn't help at all!
I'll be posting rarely about this due to that.
Okay before I shovel a melatonin into my maw and go to sleep let's have a quick chat about quitting smoking.
An honest chat.
Shame from others doesn't work.
Statistics don't mean shit.
Commercials showing the outcome from smoking are nothing.
One day you get up and you realize that today is the exact fucking day and if you don't work on quitting THAT DAY you're going to keep failing to quit forever.
You get a few of those days, actually.
Seize one.

Thanks! Let's hope it sticks!
As a person who is well acquainted with grief now I find this much more easy than before.
@BrainTrust
Nah, but thank you
Just took younger son's devices away for bed and he said, "My tabs are gone." I said yes.
"I am really mad."
"Oh? Are you as mad as you are every time the WiFi on your phone fails because you have 60 tabs open?"
"Goodnight mommy I love you."
"MMMMHMMMM"
Hi, I am quitting smoking!
I'll be more active when I don't have the urge to destroy another human being.
Right now I'm vibing with Angelica Huston's Morticia!
It's all good!
