This is why I've been staying away from social media.
I posted about how a masculine voice conveys authority more than a deep, feminine voice, and I get people cheering my kid on for not going to bed.
Nice.
Well done, y'all.

@Shelter Some people don't know when to shut the fuck up.
@Treebugz
I'm really goddamn tired of it.
@Shelter your post made me recall one of my favorite scenes.. :)
@silent_dystopia
I'll check it tomorrow.
I'm in no mood tonight.
If you don't mind me asking, I'm curious about a few things.
Is 13 angry to have to stop for the night or is it that you're touching his devices?
I admit to not fully understanding autism as I don't know anyone in real life who is autistic.
@see_the_sus
He, specifically, doesn't want to stop.
He's fine with me touching his stuff.
But although he can tell time, and he's been told 11, he has a meltdown.
aaahhh, so it sort of sounds to me like the typical behaviour of a teenager?
@see_the_sus
Not unless a teenager bites himself and throws himself against his wall while screaming loud enough to be heard two counties over.
@see_the_sus
A tantrum and an autistic meltdown are not equal.
yeah, ok, I stand corrected.
@see_the_sus
Good.
Thank you.
I often have a hard time fully understanding a situation or what a person means via the written word because I'm so visually oriented. I miss clues or if I'm not able to envision what the person is talking about, I totally miss what they're talking about.
@see_the_sus
I miss clues constantly.
I don't become violent like my son.
The written word is difficult on any social media, I think.
I've wished for years that there were fonts for different modes of speech like sarcasm or anger.
Or maybe we should all just adopt the speaking style of the Elcor race from Mass Effect.
Serious: We need a better way to properly convey emotion in text.
@Tarnagh @see_the_sus
Or we could just be kind.
@Tarnagh @see_the_sus
Imagine that world.
I'm as guilty of making assumptions as I guess most people are because we (meaning me specifically but I'm sure I'm not alone in this) assess things other people say through the lens of our own experience.
But if you're getting heart attacks that isn't something to ignore, even if you have to schedule time for it later in order to get seen when it's safe! I can understand how you can't leave in that moment but please try and schedule some time later to be tested!
@Tarnagh @see_the_sus
I will try to.
I promise.
It was - a very weird thing. I could document it all! Because that's what I do.
Please do. Earliest possible soonest. I know you know that's not something to ignore.
@Tarnagh @see_the_sus
Severe nausea. Severe abdominal pain. Oh that's stress.
Severe pain under shoulder blade.
Fuck off
Tightness and pressure in chest. You can fuck right off, too.
Pain in chest. I said FUCK OFF.
My panic attacks don't work that way.
I'll get on it when I can.
@see_the_sus @Tarnagh
It'll be urgent care.
I don't have a doctor.
@Shelter @see_the_sus @Tarnagh Please get well
@Vonzales @see_the_sus @Tarnagh
Working on it.
@see_the_sus @Tarnagh
Unfortunately my previous husband was a paramedic.
So I am hyper aware yet hyper critical.
Is this 911? No.
Is this? Yes.
Trying to see a bright side here - at least you're aware of the symptoms. A lot of people wouldn't be.
@see_the_sus
I'll bet you know a ton of autistic people who are masking in society.
@Shelter I hear you. I haven’t been posting much lately either. Posted earlier for the first time in 2 days (second time in a week). Something I thought was fairly benign. Got a snide, mansplaining reply. I replied back stating that I had worked in the industry I was talking about. Guy escalated and basically went off the rails over something ridiculous. I wondered for a moment if I’d accidentally wandered onto Twitter.
I’m tired. I simply blocked him.
@sanau
Being tired is always block.
You did well.
Just - be you, block, get sleep.
And by the way, in my best Lauren Bacall, Fuck you.
