Nothing like being scapegoated by bureaucrats to build company loyalty. /s

Ever want to quit on the spot but realize it isn't smart financially in a tightening market?

It is a tough pill to swallow.

@S_r_stone Yes. And the fact that we find ourselves having to be _afraid_ to quit shitty jobs is right where they want us.

@AskTheDevil There are also the non-compete contracts that limit where you can go.
For me, it is more being blamed by the people really at fault. But pointing it out would be insubordination (effectively quitting.)
Intermediate management knows the truth, but won't risk their own position to defend.

Meritocracy is a myth in the corporate world. All politics.

@S_r_stone Note: In the US at least, non-compete agreements are typically unlawful or unenforceable, except in a couple of states. But most people don't know that, and are intimidated by them.

@AskTheDevil The result is the same when potential employers ask and effectively eliminate from consideration if you have one.

They are enforceable with a few exceptions where I am.
