I'm still looking at this pandemic as if it was a war.

C19 is the enemy. Aggressive, ruthless, always on the attack. Constantly probing for our weak spots and deadly when it finds them.

The social distancing, the masks, the hand washing, and the constant surface cleaning are the only line of of defense currently available to civilians.

Not one or two or three of those things. All of them, consistently. No slack allowed.

@Render
We can't let our guard down.
Every vigilant.
I am settled in for the long haul.

@Render
I understand the virus, I know how it works, how it attacks and what weaknesses it exploits. The problem isn't the virus, we can deal with a virus...the problem is those who don't see an enemy when it stares them in the face.

@Render
Yet we have entire battalions ceding territory without a fight.

Lafayette isn't coming to bail us out this time.

I basically never go anywhere. I should, actually, go outside more--but living downtown, I can't do that without being around people, so mostly I don't.

I check my mail every 2-3 days, which requires going to the ground floor.

I get groceries delivered.

About once a week I have a delivery that requires interacting with the delivery person, and I wear a mask. Most of them do, too.

And I have no plans to change anytime soon.

@Render Can you help convince the pandemic free face anti-maskers who don't believe in social distancing either?

@Render I know, I know - Hippos! 🦛

Oh, I see. Never mind. 😉

@Render I get that, especially as a way to think about protecting yourself and fighting back. But as a species of life on this planet, I wish we'd look at it as a mosquito just looking for a meal. Depriving it of that meal is sensible, yes. But what else could we do? What doesn't it like? What would make it less contagious? What would make it self-destruct? I don't know. But we need some new ways to look at pathogens to outsmart them.

@TealAmber I have no qualms about using chemical warfare against mosquito's...
