So I was told I being patronizing to a woman simply for opening a door for her at the store. She was all “I can open it myself thank you….don’t need no man commanding me what to do!” My response: I was just being courteous to a random stranger. Thanks for the unnecessary rudeness! WTAF is going on? Is it truly wrong to try to be a gentleman anymore?

@Punisher1976

that used to happen back when women's lib was getting going, but i've not seen it lately.

weird.

@Punisher1976 I hold open doors for the next person regardless of gender considerations 🤷‍♀️

@Punisher1976 Someone - not you - has an issue. As a feminist since 1972, here's my take: anyone who is human and kind will hold a door for someone else. Hint: maybe don't call it being a gentleman /s 😘

@wolfwoman No issue with the feminism of such matters…..but being a considerate human being to anyone regardless of their gender, race, etc. is not a crime….the last I checked 🤷‍♂️

@Punisher1976 That's what I meant. I wouldn't call her a "real" feminist. Just someone who is angry, specifically at men.

@wolfwoman A man hater then? Hahaha….that’s my take at least

@Punisher1976 You did everything right. You cannot be faulted for her mental instability.

@Tacitus_Kilgore It seems it’s happening more and more nowadays. Lots of very unhappy people out there for no good reason.

@Punisher1976 I've had the same happen to me. It has never stopped me from doing what my grandmother would box my ears if I didn't.

@Punisher1976 you were right, she was rude. it's polite to hold the door for the next close person, male, female, old, young. we need more just be nice.

@redenigma Yes let’s bring human kindness back. I’m so sick and tired of unnecessary anger and people just rubbing everyone’s face in the dirt. The entitlement needs to friggin stop!

@Punisher1976 Don't take this too seriously please! There was a time I might have at least felt this way even though I didn’t say anything. Some of us still get touchy about being helped ‘cause we have been repeatedly patronized by other male “helpers” who were not… Now, having joined the ranks of the many literally weak, I will smile and thank you if you happen to offer help, and I am not the only person who will, regardless of gender. ❤️

@Punisher1976 i would just reply:

' i'm sorry you feel that way. i hold the door open for everyone regardless of gender b/c it's a kind thing to do. and i try to be kind.'

then walk away. leave them stuttering in the dust. it can be very satisfying. 😉

also, it's not about being a 'gentleman' which is gendered. it's about being kind, right? just be your kind self. others will recognize it and appreciate it. 😊

@singlemaltgirl @Punisher1976 She might have been having a bad day! Either way SMG is correct.

@Punisher1976 tell her you were airing out the Covid, and ask if she’s really the kind of person that’d enter a place with a homicidal maniac holding the door open?

@Punisher1976 I hold open doors for everyone. Including the snotty ones.

@Punisher1976 I will also let go a door in someone's face when they are snotty, and I don't check to see what gender identity they present first.

@Punisher1976

She is an ungrateful harpy. Opening a door for any gender is common courtesy. Not an assault on women.

This is how women running for president are negated.

@LnzyHou Correct! Yet so many women still support the 🍊💩 even regardless if he has any respect for their rights or not. (We the ones who have BRAINS know this already about him but they still won’t get it!)

@Punisher1976 I don't sweat the ridiculous people. It smooths out my days.

@Punisher1976 I appreciate when door are opened for me, and I open doors for others. Courtesy is never a bad thing.
