The supposed virtue of a Democratic Republic is that individual/minority rights can't be transgressed by the majority.

What we have in the USA is a minority transgressing the rights of the majority.

I think that's their soft underbelly from a messaging perspective--
We can likely agree that while a majority shouldn't abuse a minority, neither should a minority rule over a majority

Rebalance the Court
End the electoral college
End the Senate

@TheNewsOwl

Perhaps, but there's still value in the "self-made" mindset.

As the late, great, Tupac said, "I'm a self-made millionaire."

@feloneouscat

I can't argue with any particular statement here. 😁

Chuck Todd is questioning how Dems deal with the SCOTUS. Packing the court, and/or changing the rules is a very slippery slope. If we don't like it and if we think they're doing things wrong, we need to scrutinize the judges more, and perhaps impeach (there's enough evidence). But we need to maintain the judicial system we have. It's a good system, if maintained properly.

I HATE that this is true, but as a small business owner, I made SO much money under Trump. My business has plummeted under Biden.

That's not worth having Trump as president again as social issues have far more weight than financial issues.

But it's still true.

Burgum (the R presidential candidate) is leaning HEAVILY on "states rights."

It seems he doesn't know that that was a battle cry of the Confederacy. That may pass in the primaries. It won't pass the general.

"Bidenomics" or no, there are several public servants better suited to the presidency than he.

Never Trump (or DeSantis, for that matter). But Biden is more of the same. We want forward progression. Not 90s democracy.

Chuck Todd is trying to push notTrump.

Sorry, Trump is going to be the Rep candidate. They're too emotionally invested and suffer from the sunk cost fallacy.

@Cynanthrope

Thank you?

And yes, let's open the reparations discussion.

@grrlscientist

This claim (which I do believe) feels like it comes from the same vein as corps saying that it's the hoi polois personal responsibility to start recycling (which everyone should do) thereby redirecting accountability away from the actual offenders: the corps making these claims.

I am biased. I don't like tofu. I love steak. I'd prefer to start with other methods, like pushing corps harder to change their ways. Besides, we have to leave SOME carbon in the air for the trees.

Phil Mattingly is kinda bullying Audie Cornish under the guise of playfulness. That dude needs groveling at her feet! She is SOOOOO much more competent professional than he.

I mean, he's good, but he's no Audie Cornish.
