Here's an article that despite the flagrant use of the term "the net" isn't showing a day of it's 28+ year age. The closing sentence only gets more apropos by the day.

My entropy feels exceptionally entropic this morning.
"It is easy for us to lose ourselves in details in endeavoring to grasp and comprehend the real condition of a mass of human beings. We often forget that each unit in the mass is a throbbing human soul.
Ignorant it may be, and poverty stricken, black and curious in limb and ways and thought; and yet it loves and hates, it toils and tires, it laughs and weeps its bitter tears, and looks in vague and awful longing at the grim horizon of its life--all this even as you and I."
~W.E.B. Du Bois
@DavidSalo Well said. Many of us "tolerate" without accepting or becoming, and we must accept that it's the most many people can do.
But it also means not attacking, fomenting hate, interfering, stopping or dictating that other people change into something we decide is personally acceptable.
Some things must NEVER be codified into law or enforced with the tools of terror and power. That puts us into a state of fascism...and stopping fascism is now our greatest battle.
You don't have to just shrug at people who are different from you: you can be very glad that you live in a colorful, non-monotone world, full of different ways of being and relating to that world, and that you have the opportunity to enrich yourselves by participating in the lives of those people and learning from them, as well as their learning from you.
For example:
I'm not offended by people being white, or male, or straight, or cisgender, or having short hair, or going to church, or mowing their lawns, or putting framed embroideries that say LIVE LOVE LAUGH on their walls.
If I were, I might be intolerant.
I *am* offended by people who think that people of color, or women, or LGBTQ people are inferior, or who hate long hair, or who think that atheists and pagans need to be re-educated, or who sue their neighbors for having wild space.
That's not intolerance. That's not some kind of paradox. That's not "the limits of tolerance."
It's simply that the point of "tolerance" — or rather affirmation of differences — is to eliminate hatred, not protect it. The only people who feel threatened by an open and diverse society are those who want to impose their views and ideology—whether it's fascism, communism, capitalism, christianity, islam, or anything else—on others. It's about freedom to be, not freedom to make others be something.

Morning thought:
Some people think of tolerating other people who are different from themselves as a concession—something they really shouldn't have to do, but that they agree to for the sake of general peace, or out of weakness and fear that they might be discriminated against themselves.
How different is this flabby toleration from an enthusiastic embrace and affirmation of differences, based on an understanding of the strength, vigor, and intelligence of diversity!
Dear streaming services,
Please give me a "view all alphabetically" option.
When you sort these things I'm spending half time scrolling past dbl. trip, quad cross categorized stuff.
Yeah it makes your offerings "appear" bigger and that's why you don't have a list all section but don't blame the viewer on YOUR slim pickings.

"When people see those who disagree with them as not just wrong but evil, they’re more likely to try to silence rather than engage with them. Some are pushing to strip opponents of their rights. Others use social intimidation tactics to chill speech. These legal and cultural threats are spiking at the very time our communities need free speech to allow diverse voices to discuss and solve the urgent challenges we face."
