This was easily one of the filthiest and fucked up works of literary erotica that I've read, but also one of the more interesting.

@TheAbbotTrithemius This was the first thing of his I read — it came up in another novel I loved, C.J. Leede's "Maeve Fly" — but I may check out more later.
"Maeve Fly" looks interesting, thanks for the tip!
If you like that sort of transgressive writing you may also like Blaise Cendrars's "Moravagine" and Comte de Lautréamont's "Les Chants des Maldorer".
Bataille also produced serious philosophy like "Inner Experience" which is based on Nietzsche.
My introduction was a collection of essays called "Visions of Excess". Which has a very funny (semi-crazed) essay called "The Language of Flowers" on PDF. I'll put up in COunterShare!
@TheAbbotTrithemius Thanks. I'll check them out.

I love Bataille. His essays and wolrdviews, his secret society... L'Abbe C is also good/weird/filthy spiritual etc... his fierce anti-Nazism, just so ahead of his time.
