Morning CoSo fam….have a question. I am going to go shopping for my baking this weekend for St. Patti’s day. I was going to make a Guinness chocolate stout cake with a Bailey Irish buttercream to go on top.
I am leaning towards not making it Bailey’s buttercream cause it’s work and alcohol in frosting (cake I don’t care cause alcohol bakes off in heat)
Do you think I should not do Bailey’s and just do regular? I am not sure if it’s appropriate to bring “alcohol” food to a non party event
@Patti1120 Go with what taste appeals to you the most. Nobody is going to be reciting the Alphabet backwards on one foot for enjoying a piece of cake.
@Patti1120 A very thoughtful question. I think I'd forego the Bailey's. You'd probably have to eat the entire cake, maybe more, to feel any effects, but some people are sensitive to alcohol.
@Patti1120
I would make the frosting without the Bailey
@Patti1120 there’s non-alcoholic Bailey’s, Lyre’s
Thank you everyone for your replies! Very much appreciated
