PSA, to all I might be a little scarce over the next few weeks to a few months with some news that dropped on my lap about my therapist through his wife/assistant. He's being forced to take an indefinite leave of medical absence due to a neurological event that occurred two hours before my last appointment with him two weeks ago. He's in the best of care, but his wife informed me that this condition has a low survival rate. I fear I will be preparing for a funeral before New Years.

If you are the praying type, please offer up prayers for Jason, he has been my emotional stone through a whole lot of trauma knots I've worked through within his care for the last seven years and his wife has been all too kind to share with me the details of what happened, given he doesn't live too far from where I live, I may ask should things take a turn for the worst, if I could offer some words at his grave for her, and for him both.

I'll be okay, the alters will settle down, it's just...I looked forward to my time with him and talking to him about literally everything under the sun, we both had our troubles and honestly we kind of learned to rely on one another for advice and perspective that kind of railed against what therapist-client relationships normally were like. Hell, he was the one that told me I would make a fine therapist if I ever chose to pursue the path.

@PaganMother It sounds like every moment with him was a precious gift .

@Lavransdattar They certainly were, I learned a lot from him and he from me. His wife as well by extension with handling the patient files I'm sure. I just hope that if he passes, it's not painful to him.
