@OneLillieSpark there's been a lot of horrible things in recent years that have me wondering if America was ever really America.
@PaganMother @OneLillieSpark There's a Langston Hughes poem that addresses that very thing. He died in the 60s and the poem sounds like it could have been written today.
No graphic violence or anything in the poem. But he addresses how many groups have never been included in "the American dream".

I just couldn't dismiss it, or pretend I hadn't seen it.
I was in New York on September 11. My aunt's grave was desecrated in 2016 because it had a star instead of a cross. My uncle was murdered.
I've had enough chaos. Chaos is never the answer.
