A lovely twitter user is organizing a blanket flood of emails to IRS in aggressive tactic to revoke NRA's tax exemption status. To quote him.
"The process to get the NRA's tax-exempt nonprofit status revoked has become simpler. All you need to do is save this form and email it to [email protected]. It's all filled out for you. You just need to click send." (Source: https://twitter.com/AllenBGlines/status/1530420199379193857 ) Spread it far and wide, and take action! #CoSoPolitics #CoSoTakeAction
@PaganMother Thanks for posting this - action taken.
There’s probably a law out there preventing a person from removing the whole “click send” part from this process, especially to any *.gov addresses.
@PaganMother One thing: the form is not completely filled out -- the signature/address block is blank, logically. Might not be a bad idea to include that information in the email (I did not include a telephone number in mine, though I see there's a space for that as well.)
@yadayadayada It's intentional, if you read the twitter thread, they explain that there's no reason to fill in personal information, addresses or signatures if you fear retaliation. (Which given how the NRA is and it's rigorous members in the political arenas, I certainly do.) They explain it in further detail in the twitter thread I linked. ^^
@PaganMother I tried reading the thread but didn't get far b/c I have no Twitter account and Twitter doesn't like that. So thanks for the info. But -- and what do I know, I could be wrong -- I suspect not filling in the signature block could give the IRS grounds to ignore the document.
@yadayadayada Nupe, given the selection on the bottom about fearing retaliation, this obligates them to take the complaint seriously and give complete privacy to the complaint sender.
@yadayadayada A few folks were asking this same question in the thread. I don't mind digging through the burning trashbin to help out. :)
@PaganMother Thanks. I submitted the form and hope it does some good. The question of whether or not the IRS is obligated to consider documents that are not completely filled out is out of my hands.
@yadayadayada It's all we tax payers can really do at this time. I fully intend to use the same form against churches that are discussing politics with their congregation.
@PaganMother An excellent thought.

Sent with subject line: Revoke NRA tax exempt status.
Maybe it will help.
@PaganMother thank you for sharing; action taken.
