I've dipped my toes into true crime, and to be honest... holy shit, are humans in real life scarier than the far future of the 42nd millenium.

There's a *ttttoooonnnn* of stuff that gets reported, and I bet there's a whole other untold number of unreported cases. which.... and that last realization has kept me up all night more than a couple of times.
