That was terrifying when it hit! It’s really unstable and wobbly.

It’s getting lighter on the trailer but I’m pretty sure it’s toast. I see tree and sky through the bedroom ceiling. 😩

@NorCalCherylLyn damn glad your ok, just loaded the truck up grabbed the Rotties daughter GDaughter and her new born loaded in her suv, drove down the road where there are n trees, couldn’t do anything for the chickens, Tallest redwood looks like it’s going to crash tru the 2d story 57MPH wind shifted , we are safe now you need to leave the area too Cheryl Lyn! Please stay safe

@SupplySgt glad you’re safe! It’s scary as hell out there. Really hope your trees stay up but I can’t see how any are still standing in this.

@NorCalCherylLyn yeah it is, if they are still standing they’ll be removed in a few days, got a message in to our tree guy, had the oaks removed a few years ago those are the last of the big ones, not worried about the fruit orchard, how much damage did you get, saw your pics but it’s hard to tell

@SupplySgt we really won’t know about the damage until we get the tree off. It could be ok if nothing else falls on it. 🤞🏻🤞🏻

The rest of that line of trees is getting cut short if not taken out asap. Naturally it was the biggest one that fell… 🤦🏻‍♀️

@NorCalCherylLyn again glad you’re ok, hope if any damage it’s minimal

@NorCalCherylLyn @SupplySgt

I lived under a canopy of massive old growth trees for 40 years. I miss the land and the river, but I do not miss being terrified every time the wind roared!
I'm sorry you are going through this tonight Cheryl! 😘

@MerakiLife @NorCalCherylLyn yeah it’s scary, my wife and GKids are upset and very scared, no matter how nice the trees look the danger isn’t worth it

@SupplySgt @NorCalCherylLyn

I eventually learned to be very careful about what and where I planted! We humans rarely consider how enormous trees grow.

@MerakiLife @SupplySgt yeah there are great pluses for trees around your home but size matters…a lot! With the winds increasing and the fires also clearance is so important.

@NorCalCherylLyn @SupplySgt

Even more importantly than size is root ball mass. Some trees like firs have very shallow roots for their height meaning they topple easily. Deciduous trees also need more shaping and branches trimmed if they are in yards. Most of us have to spend our money on things other than tree trimming services.

@MerakiLife @SupplySgt the other large one in the line is being uprooted too. Ground is cracking around it. Need to get it topped at least but I think will need a Pro for that. 🫣🫣🫣

@NorCalCherylLyn @SupplySgt I hope it’s all OK… we’ve had some large branches fall from a neighbors tree a couple of years ago… he’s cut back a lot and we’re going to prune straight up our property line.

@j0n @SupplySgt heard another one come down last night. Not sure which one yet… 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

@j0n @SupplySgt 2nd tree came down on neighbor’s barn. Not happy for it but kinda relieved. Hope the horses weren’t too freaked out.

@NorCalCherylLyn @j0n too close! Glad everyone was ok, Guess I’ll be spending the day on clean up patrol, never seen a storm like that since I was a kid growing up in Washington state, I don’t remember those being that powerful

@SupplySgt @j0n we’ve never seen anything like that either. SIL’s family have lived here since the 50s and they say it’s a first for them. All Lincoln schools are closed so daughter and her hubby have the day to help. Glad Lowe’s is open!!

@LnzyHou @j0n @SupplySgt such a freaking mess! SIL went to buy another chainsaw and Gson and hubby are coming out. 🤞🏻🤞🏻 that we can sleep in the trailer tonight.

@NorCalCherylLyn @j0n @SupplySgt

Horrifying. Wish I could help.

Lived in hurricane alley. I know the anxiety & fear.

@NorCalCherylLyn oh my gosh! Were you in the trailer, or somewhere else? That looks terrfying!

@janallmac we were in there. Dog and cat were really scared to death. I need stuff from inside but it’s too unstable. Hope the rest doesn’t fall.
My trailer is under this row of trees, don’t want to get closer in case the rest come down.

@NorCalCherylLyn 😳 Oh my gosh. I hope things are mostly fine inside! What a mess! Thankfully, you are sfe!

@janallmac mostly fine inside. Just hoping the trailer isn’t totaled! Didn’t have a new one budgeted. 😆

@heyrhiannon yeah, we’re all fine. Nervous as hell but our daughter lives next door so we’re dry and safe. 💙

@SupplySgt yeah, I didn’t have buying a new home on my bingo card!

@NorCalCherylLyn

I'm so very sorry! 🥺

But as long as you and your family are safe, that's all that matters!

@NorCalCherylLyn

Truly. But it's still devastating to see such massive destruction to one's property and surrounding areas. Never mind the nightmare of cleaning it up! After we experienced Hurricane Sandy, I totally understand what you are going through!

@NorthernInvader possibly, wonder if there will be enough spray foam in town to fill all the holes. 🤔🤔🤔

@NorCalCherylLyn

I am so sorry this happened. It sucks. Get the roof tarped while you contact insurance. Army Corp of Engineers often will tarp your roof (at least here in south Louisiana). Take lots of pictures. You'll need them for FEMA. I don't know if mold is bad there but it's impt to get your home closed up and dry.

@ellesu thank you! Hubby is working on getting it sealed up today. The trailer really took the hit well! Only one crunched spot that can be patched for the meantime. Hard part will be figuring out what’s next and getting it going.

@NorCalCherylLyn

I hope everything goes smoothly. After bad hurricanes hit here it can be difficult finding reputable contractors/repairmen/supplies Keep us updated.

@ellesu that’s always an issue after bad weather…the thieves come out. Just so crappy of them!
