The peril of mass communication, for all its promise is the sensationalization and commoditization of the news.

All hail the 24 hour news cycle.

It was not necessarily better in the old days, but we are definitely in a yellow journalism period as we learn to navigate our changing digital landscape.

I am tired. I stayed up late to watch the debate with Coso buddies.

Currently I'm in Texas visiting my parents till the 8th, then I go back to Virginia to help a buddy with a move, then I'm back home for two days before going to Orlando with my husband on a business trip.

It's been a busy time. It always kind of is for me. I am a wander beast.

Most of my content I curate and I avoid ads like the plague. Advertising truly bugs me deep down.

Visiting my parents, they always have the TV on, and so... LOTS OF COMMERCIALS!

I'm approaching it with curiosity as best I can. I was just watching a DQ commercial.

We live in an interesting time. There is still a lot of food insecurity in the world, but we have whole industries dedicated not just to providing food, but unique, cheap food pleasure.

It's just a wild world out there.

It's an ancient human condition, built out of fear and tribalism. We see it in the crusades, we see it with the greeks and Romans.

The Term Barbarian after all originally meant "those who do not speak greek"

Ironic that no matter how you define it we live in quite the barbaric age.
