@LnzyHou @Loffreni I do not wish to add to your grief but the roads are closed and it would be near impossible for you to get there, only to divert resources.

I think the best thing probably any of us can do is contribute to relief efforts as we are able, and pray if that's your thing.

@Pat_Walrond I was speaking this morning about how police officers came to my door when I was 22 to evacuate me as the town was flooding and I refused to go.

For one I didn't think it was that bad.

And the second reason? I don't easily trust authority and did not want to be in an evacuation center.

I resolved that if it got bad, I'd leave on my own. My distrust of govt officials is well earned, and deeply ingrained.

It's easy to grow nostalgic about the past, but I was not the same person then, and I suffered a lot more.

With age comes wisdom and temperance. I know my body is going to get closer to failure as I age, and all of that but that's just what happens.

I have more reasons for joy and hope today than I did 20 years ago in the flower of my youth.

We all have our time, and that is a great blessing.
