@MakerWerks There's this understanding that life is a bit Sisyphean. No matter how close I might get that boulder to the peak eventually it's going to run me over and roll back to start.

I hope you are pleasantly surprised and can get the retirement you've earned and paid for.

@MakerWerks My Father in Law was preparing to retire in 2008 when the economy crashed and with it he lost like 60% of his savings. It was devastating.

I'm an old millennial and starting about the time I was a teenager I was being told that I couldn't expect social security to be there for me when I retired.

It grants me a level of understanding, I think, to what you're feeling because for me and many in my generation retirement means "Keep going till you can't"

I've noticed a lot of rhetoric in the last election cycle about trans issues. According to some news I've seen the GOP spent 215 million on ads targeting transfolks alone

There's this idea that we're recruiting because the number of young trans folks is going up. But I've never seen a trans person outside a church passing out tracts about the lifestyle

This seems to be a throwback to what they once said about Gay and Lesbian folks in the 50s and 60s

They are often volunteer positions but it could give you connections and path beyond the volunteer work alone.
