However, it has been a continual worry of my parents, so much so that my Dad insisted I take an uber instead of jogging down to my gym when it was about a mile from here.

I guess 5 minutes of exposure to a stranger is nominally better than 15 minutes out overland?

The thing is, this is probably over cautious. I've never had to much problem except being yelled at in a bathroom a couple times, but there is a more sinister tilt to the world than there was before for me, here.

Odd.

So I messed up my schedule and so I wasn't able to get to the gym today.

My parents need their car often in the mornings so if I don't get out by a certain time, it prevents me from going.

I could run outside. I'm equipped to, but I don't exactly feel safe being out to much here with the way thigns are in the US right now.

That struck me as.a surprise. I know Lubbock has hostile people to trans folks, but it's never prevented me from getting out there before.

@InvaderGzim @Madken65 It's interesting how habits become traditions.

I fly a lot, and often on Southwest. I have this tradition that if I touch the heart by the door before I board and then the top of the door, I know it will be a good flight.

I don't know how this started for me but it doesn't feel right if I skip, so much so that when I fly different airlines I approximate the tradition.

Just a bit of magic before take off.

@Museek I'm doing alright. I'm down in Texas visiting my parents, and then I'm off to Virginia to help with a move. Buddy is going through a divorce so I'll get to be there for them too.

@PurpleDragon The commoditization of suffering is one of the greatest evils perpetuated by man.

Holy Gods this hits hard.

Artist Jonathan Harris and his painting titled “Critical Race Theory”

@grrlscientist I honestly came away with a different conclusion. Walz seemed "human", JD Vance seemed like he had bodies in his basement.

Body: Oh you haven't run today, then why don't we just eat all the things...

Me:

@Marc_T_Benedict Metric... not even once!

There's a slight joke in Dawnbreak... The Age of Nations has been over for 40 years, the USA is part of history, and is now known as North America, Sector 2, and Joyce, who grew up in Ohio still thinks in Imperial.

When are you going metric with the rest of the world? John asks, a native of Kelowna BC.

@AskTheDevil @LnzyHou His presence was a gift and I am fortunate to have known him. Wherever he has gone, I wish his spirit well.

He will always be part of our family.
