Good morning groovy souls!

I've bee on the struggle with my fitness and gym goals the last couple weeks, and I realized this morning that all the stress of travel and work these last six months, along with my rigorous training schedule, I'm feeling strained.

No matter how much I want to, part of me is burning out. Yesterday, I was hurting and exhausted so I rested, and then my eating went a bit over the top.

Avoiding recrimination, I took time to really think about where I am today.

My goals remain the same, but sometimes you have to let go and stop to move forward. I've pushed myself to the point of everything falling apart before, and that is a cycle I can break

Today, I am going to set easy goals, keep my calories in range, and do the cleaning I've been wanting to get done

I'm taking the time to let the body and the mind mentally recover, even if it costs me a couple training days. So long as I get back to it tomorrow or the next day, I'll quickly regain ceded ground.

Everything is ok. Life is never a static thing. Trying to hold rigidly to a static mean will only leave you hurt and exhausted.

It's a hard won lesson, but I'm getting there.

@NiveusLepus

Just call it a cheat day and feel no guilt.
Rest and relaxation of mind, body and soul are just as important a part of your fitness life.
Take the time needed to reset and refocus.
Come back stronger.
You got this.
✌🏼❤️ 💪🏼

@MrsDanaD Exactly right. I need a little time where I'm not pushing so hard, and denying myself that and trying to soldier on is what's been leading to the cycle I've been on.

Choosing to prioritize rest for a day or two, I can "control the landing" ^_^

@NiveusLepus

Absolutely!
The rest will invigorate you physically, mentally and emotionally.
Let fitness be a great addition but not a sacrifice.
Then you’ll continue to enjoy it and be even more motivated.
Stick that landing, Simone 😉🏅

@NiveusLepus You have the right kind of problem. And the attitude to beat it! 👍
I don’t. Exercise is a chore for me. 😕

@jaunty I think the way that our culture thinks about exercise is broken. I am certain there are certain physical activities that you like to do. Be it a walk in the woods, or dancing, going for a swim, the list goes on and on.

We live our lives kineticly. Even the most sedentary among us must move, and has found at least temporary joy in some kind of movement.

That's the key I think. To find not just what you can endure, but what you can enjoy and love.

@NiveusLepus Thanks for listening! I’m a little crabby today. Trying to not be negative. 🙂

@jaunty I am always happy to sit and listen to you. Even on your worst most crabtastic day you are worth love, support and patience.

Thank you for sharing your light with me!

@NiveusLepus I treasure your friendship. You help calm me and open doors to new experiences. Blessings to you Becca! 💜
