A couple of thoughts:
Sense of thirst declines with age.
Drinking too much water in a short time can throw off your body's electrolyte balance and cause a dangerous condition.
My urologist told me same thing. Too much water unnecessarily stresses the bladder.
I still need more 💧however.
He was happy with 60 oz trying to get down by midday. Lest I pee all night.
My DIL buys Fiji by the case via Amazon.
Love the water.
Hate the plastic bottles.
Been thinking about my own case. Shame on me.
@CinnamonGirlE @LnzyHou @CJLavoie It is. I've been focusing on reducing it down to as little as possible but its still everywhere.
I bought laundry powder instead of detergent to avoid the plastic bottle. Got the heavy cardboard box it came in, felt proud of myself, opened it to find the powder contained in a plastic bag.
It is in these moments that I am reminded that I cannot let perfect become the enemy of the good. Every mindful action matters.

I did try, and I shall continue to try. The plastic bag is less plastic than a plastic bottle.
On this trip, I've been buying reusable bags and containers for my pills and shoes and stuff, so I can get away from ziplocs for good.
My new pill bag, is a trail food bag, made ironically... from recycled plastic.
But it will last, and its that much less going into a landfill.
Every step forward is a victory. It all matters.
@k_ratoncita @CinnamonGirlE @LnzyHou @CJLavoie When I go for walks, if I see plastic, I try to pick it up, if its not to disgusting looking (I cannot always wash my hands immediately nor do I carry gloves)
That's that much less microplastics in an environment. I found a water bottle stuck in a bush the other day.
People talk about how the Japanese have very clean streets, but that is a tradition there.
These little changes can add up to big ways. Spread the hope!

So, I'm being a ramble beast but, Patagonia, Thule, and Osprey all do stuff with blue sign materials.
Bluesign is all about producing stuff without toxic stuff, to you and the people making it. Thule and Patagonia particularly also focus on fair labor, with Patagonia leading the charge in fair trade sewing, and recycling.
So their packing cubes, and stuff like that... Awesome stuff.
Also check out cottage industries! Small business do a lot!

This exactly. Perfect cannot be the enemy of good.
This is where we go insane. We do the good we can, where we can, when we can.
@NiveusLepus @CinnamonGirlE @LnzyHou @CJLavoie
Good for you. You still used less plastic. Many of us are on that same journey of trying to be less of the problem.
I find myself making or doing more things myself from scratch. And funny thing, it is usually cheaper, and not actually noticeably less convenient :)

I make my own scouring powder for the tub and sink with Baking Soda, Washing soda, and Kosher salt (Its got the grit)
1/2 cup each in a jar and shake it up. Works like a charm
@NiveusLepus @ceorl @CinnamonGirlE @CJLavoie
Washing soda?
@LnzyHou @ceorl @CinnamonGirlE @CJLavoie Yeah it's good stuff!
@NiveusLepus @CinnamonGirlE @LnzyHou @CJLavoie
I use detergent sheets. While they are not perfect, they are extremely low waste with zero mess.
I'm not willing to wrangle boxes of powder anymore.
@NiveusLepus @CinnamonGirlE @CJLavoie
So correct.
I bought bleach in a carton for same reason. Inadvertently sprinkled on top of washer which then transferred to brand new teeshirt with bleached spot.
Threw out shirt.
Gaaaaaa
@NiveusLepus @CinnamonGirlE @LnzyHou @CJLavoie Unfortunately, without that plastic bag, your powdered detergent might quickly become a brick due to plain ol' humidity. The stuff is quite deliquescent.
@LnzyHou @NiveusLepus @CinnamonGirlE @CJLavoie Yeah, my family usually refuses to play Scrabble with me.
@NiveusLepus You tried! @CinnamonGirlE @LnzyHou @CJLavoie
