Maybe because that would be a violation of his right to privacy? I swear, these headlines are pulling out all the stops in the, "Oo, oo, oo! Click me! Click me," idiocy.

Tell me you've never read the books (or watched the movies even) without telling me you never read the books. 😂

is a tool. Like any tool, it can be used to create or to destroy. Like any tool, it can be misused.

Making blanket conclusions about it is a bit like declaring that hammers should be ridiculed because they only exist to smash fingers. It all comes down to how it's used.

Also, mark my words, proper AI use will be a marketable skill in the not-too-distant future.

Last night we had another occultation of Mars by the moon. Here's the best image I got of it, including a cropped "close-up" version.

More comet images this morning. It will take me some time to sort through them and process them. But here's one in the meantime. The nucleus of the comet is a little fuzzy in this one, but I wanted you to get some idea of the length of the tail.

Has anyone else noticed the full court press in the car zines lately (Jalopnik, this one, others) trying very hard to convince the public at large that EVs are just too expensive? Totally disingenuous and cherry picked. I've long felt these zines are paid for by the fossil fuel industry, not the auto industry. Thoughts?

This is the only way, only way I have to say
I loved 'em every one

Dollar, short stack or tall, wish I could've ate them all
I loved 'em every one

Concerning this whole gas stove thing that's all the rage ATM. The average human produces about 500 liters of CO2/day or 1kg by weight. Ovens are more complicated but produce about 225 g/30 minutes at "normal" baking temperature. So 2 hours baking is the same as a human breathing for 1 day. Do a search for largest daily contributors. Humans and stoves don't even rate as contributors. DON'T BE DISTRACTED BY BS.

Today's project was a reorg of my coffee counter. With the 'death' of my old coffee pot and a switch to afternoon tea (and obligatory reduction in coffee consumption,) I decided an electric kettle and French press was the way to go. Used it as an opportunity to move mugs out of the cupboard and install hooks for hanging so all the counter containers, teas, hot chocolates, etc, could move behind doors. Without the big old machine and the containers there's now 60" of counter freed for use.

Out of curiosity, why do all those coming here to tell us "the bird site" (aka ) is down think we care?

Just watched a video of my partner's friend getting married on Christmas. They did their own vows. Using her phone, she does a 5-minute spiel of promises. It was actually pretty good. Then he starts, by pulling out a paper list from his pocket. He opens it and begins to read,

"Never gonna give you up
Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry
Never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you"

Now THAT'S a sense of and good night!
