@janallmac Well, at the beginning of the pandemic, my supervisor set it up for all of us to be on it. We are three different program... and she set up three different chats for each program. I noticed to today, as I, for the first time, wanted to send a message to my staff member .. that my supervisor is also tagged in the conversation. Um, I have a problem with that. So I set up our "own private" group on Teams.. I just want to make sure the super can not see what we are discussing...
@MrsE0113 @janallmac There should be a one:one chat feature. Search, not mediated by a Team. Teams doesn't make it dead obvious you're not in a group chat, so watch for that. Just search their Name and choose from the "people" category on the search result.
@chakaal @janallmac I hate this. I prefer my people to be open and honest with me. I even allow them to vent, dammit. Those up above do not need to know this.
That is good management, I agree. Honesty is SO important, for everyone! Otherwise you won't have any insight into things that are really happening and no ability to help or improve things.
I'm sorry. I don't truly know the answer.
I think if it's a truly private situation, I might consider using use a private phone.
@chakaal @janallmac Yes, counter social's own "zoom"...
@MrsE0113 @janallmac admins may have access to all chats in Teams. There is also a difference between chats and teams. Teams are groups of people. A chat in ms teams is a one to one or one to many convo. If it is not enabled then I’d go with text message or the safest face to face or Phone convo. Less of a trace.
@JGNWYRK @janallmac Yeah. I'm thinking along those lines as well. Just trying to think of something easier to use.. our college is dropping Skype Business and going full on Teams. The fact that i have to log in each day to prove "I'm working"... bites, big time. And I'm trying really really hard not to colorful words here...
@janallmac @JGNWYRK You just read my mind, Baby... 😊
Forbes talks about some concerning big brother features...
@MrsE0113 @JGNWYRK @janallmac i don’t like it. Google suite is far more flexible.
@MrsE0113 @janallmac nope. It is all recorded. I use it at work
@MrsE0113
Oh.
That I do not know at all.
As a general rule, though, I'd assume she can see everything you say and do on Teams if she really wants to.
If it's just a situation where you don't want to bother her with frequent messages, I'd flat-out ask: "Hey supe, you don't need to be copied on every message here, mind if I set this up, etc. etc. etc.?"
If it's really private? Probably just don't use Teams for it.
