Open House at my child’s school tonight took its toll on my socially anxious husband but wow did it make kiddo’s day that he came to her school and saw all the things she talks about. 🥹 She’s now sleeping soundly after a great day and he’s decompressing in the garden.

I actually don’t yet. Just hit me with the injection that lasted me 2 years the last time. I just need a reset.
I had the first uninterrupted adult conversation in the presence of my 6 yr old for the first time in forever. Why, you may wonder, has she suddenly turned this magnanimous new leaf, and allowed me to speak to another full grown woman with the patience of a saint?
Because I was talking to her bestie’s mom about maybe meeting up for play dates over the summer.
My daughter (6) and husband (41) banded together to make cupcakes for me for a Mother’s Day treat after work. 😅 There were some choices that were made. Substitutions that were not researched for feasibility. There were ANDs where the recipe called for ORs. They tasted great despite the all the aforementioned, and you better believe those cupcakes made my whole dang day.

So I bought us a big bag of bagels because, damnit.

I am not a Mom, unless you count dogs, cats, and some few students as my children. My relationship with my Mom is complicated and dysfunctional. Uterine cancer took all my reproductive organs late last year and is a silent threat for the rest of my life. And yet, all I feel this morning is peace. I am okay. And that is likely one of the biggest victories I can ever experience. Have a peaceful and happy Mothers' Day, everyone, however the day hits you.
Good morning, #cosonauts! Wishing a Happy Mother’s Day to each and all. I am off to work, but I am done at 3 and I can’t wait to see the surprise my 6yo has been preciously keeping a secret since she came home from school on Friday. What a love bug!
Winning is being given a new staff member to train but she is in her final days of orientation and has a stellar work ethic, therefore doing no actual work for 8 hours. And getting paid extra for that.

There was a sever thunderstorm and a tornado a few miles from me few days ago. 🌪️
Internet/landline/tv has been completely out since, and cell service was completely out or spotty until tonight.
Do yourself a favor and get an emergency radio - it was the only means I had of knowing anything and I was so happy to have it.
