Good morning . The birds (indoor and outdoor) are chirping, the sun is shining, it looks like it might be a beautiful day. Remember that it’s okay to take a break from the news (I’m telling myself as much as you.)

Every now and then I see a subtoot by a Naut concerned that some of us dick with @th3j35t3r at our own peril or he might get upset. Please don't worry. J and some of the OG Nauts have a long standing agreement. We give him shit as our love language. He reciprocates by being a real human who shits and farts like any other person on earth. Worry when we ask him why he hates onsie jammies 😂

Also mentioned her classroom was very hot but she felt good playing outside. 🤔

Kiddo got in the car and said, “my eyes hurt from all the screens today.” She only ate the orange I put in her snack tin, not the rice Krispy treat. She said she felt like she wanted to just go to sleep when they were doing their iPad literacy app. Sure enough she has a fever. Checked her water bottle, looks like she barely had 2 oz. 🧐 Now comes the mental gymnastics of deciding if she’s having a fever from dehydration or if she has a virus. To go to school tomorrow or not to go?

Tofu lo mein is one of those weird meals that’s better reheated.

She claims she just “doesn’t know how to use PowerPoint.”

And she’s a whole nurse.

OkAaaAYyyyy.

On a lighter note: my iPhone is apparently doing Karma’s blessed work on my behalf.

I have a coworker who abuses my kindness and people pleasing nature. And she is messaging me about essentially doing her homework for her for nursing school (again.) I’ve replied to her every message, not exactly saying no (again—people pleaser. I don’t love that about me.) and for some reason she does not seem to be receiving my messages. I’m not sure who to thank, Apple or Karma…. But I am grateful.

@MotherDucker @BrentSullivan the ongoing attack on the body autonomy of the majority of our population is the scariest thing that has happened in my lifetime. It terrifies me to leave my daughters in a world like this.

There is a :big: difference between occupying an administration building peacefully in protest.. and violently beating/killing cops, threatening to kill officials, and wanting to stop the democratic protests.. don't get them twisted. People.. here is a story that teaches the history.. educate yourselves. usatoday.com/story/news/educat

Good morning. Trying to escape the news cycle but it’s one of those train wreck mornings you can’t look away from.

Florida abortion bans, university war protests. Chaos agents trying to radicalize young people.

What are we doing here? What is the goal?

Allergy season is the worst. I am a light sleeper. So light that a whisper or tiptoe jolts me awake. I wake up startled by every sound. 😱 So when the allergies of my husband and child are in full swing, I lay here awake thinking of how whomever coined the term, “cacophony,” must have surely meant “ca-cough-ony.” And then I roll my eyes at myself, start to drowse, only to wake like a maniac at the next cough.

To be clear, I don't hate our species. I am hopeful for us, really. But I think we have gone so far that it will take a calamitous event to set us straight. There is just too much hate and corruption for it to be fixed by our own hands now. There must be an instigating factor that humbles us greatly.

@th3j35t3r @MotherDucker wonder what the age breakdown is for these guys. For science

Reading the Pets Rule! Series to my 6yr old. It is surprisingly suspenseful. We also blew through all of the Once Upon a Fairy Tale series. And I’ve got book 1 of Geronimo Stilton on hold at the library.

I am such a pushover mom when the request is, “PLEASE mommy! One more chapter?!”

Gets me every time.

Some thoughts.

1. Peaceful protests do not guarantee a lack of consequences. Ask all the Black Americans and their allies from the '60s.
2. Peaceful protests involve tearing down systems, not targeting minorities who may share a religion as the target.
3. You can't colonize your ancestral homeland, at least not in the same sense as Europeans colonized the New World.

1/2

4. What Hamas did was terrorism and unconscionable. They are still wrong.
5. You can distinguish citizens from what their elected leaders are doing.
6. Netenyahu is committing war crimes in Gaza against the civilian population.

Carpal tunnel flaring up badly right when I want to be making all the crafts. 😮‍💨

Found this portrait in Kiddo’s sketchbook this morning while I was tidying up her room.

I’ve got an artist. 🎨

The other night I was tired and told kiddo, “The first one who goes to potty, washes their hands and brushes their teeth gets to wear the Wish jammies.” She took this competition so seriously and is now challenging me continuously to contests with the prize being the Wish jammies. To be clear, I never GET to win. The deck is stacked. Which is just as well.

There is no scenario in which I could fit any part of my body into a 6yr old’s pajamas.

It’s a great motivator though.
