What was the first album you bought for yourself with your own money?

@MotherDucker there were two on the same record store visit, so I’m not sure which was first on the receipt, but they were Aerosmith’s Greatest Hits, and Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon.

@MotherDucker Second Winter by Johnny Winter. this album was released as a "three-sided" LP, with a blank fourth side on the original vinyl. Johnny wrote in the liner notes for the album that the session produced too much material for 1 LP, but not enough material for a double LP

@MotherDucker I probably bought Hendrix Band Of Gypsys around 74 or 75. I know it was the first Hendrix lp I bought.

@JustcallmeJim Savage Garden by Savage Garden.

I think it was the first album I loved that wasn’t influenced by what my elder sisters were into.

@MotherDucker I believe it was 8 albums for $1 from some record and tape club. Columbia? 🤔

But to identify one, I will go with the eponymous Foreigner.

@MotherDucker I think it was this one. Not sure. :/

She sang a disco version of Bonnie Tyler's Total Eclipse of the Heart.
