He did receive two doses of vaccine (Astra Zeneca, not ever approved in the US). He felt it permanently affected his ability to play. The antivax stuff started after that.

(I can't begin to understand how he's simultaneously a virulent xenophobic racist and also one of the few rock artists to actively publicize the fact that his music was heavily influenced by Black American blues guitarists, though...)
