Good Saturday morning!
We survived the wind. Lots of branches down, but I don't see any trees fallen. I will have to check the old brick chimney at the homestead up the mountain.
The power came on about 4 a.m. So glad we have the generator; it worked like a charm. Wise investment since we live in the woods.
Windy and high of 75 F, and still breezy. High fire danger.
That's the weather and a bit of news from the ancient Blue Ridge of VA.
Let's make it a kind day.

Brace yourselves, Illinoisans: A truly shocking number of cicadas are about to live, make sweet love, and die in a tree near you. Two broods of periodical cicadasβ€”are slated to emerge together in central Illinois this summer. The last time that these broods swarmed aboveground together, Thomas Jefferson was president and the city of Chicago had yet to exist. arstechnica.com/science/2024/0

To all of you who show respect and civility toward fellow CoSoNauts, be they Christian, Moslem, Buddhist, Taoist, Animist, Pagan, Atheist, Wiccan, Zoroastrian, whatever, especially on their most meaningful days - I would like to express my appreciation and fellowship.

To the rest of you, I have nothing to say.

My favorite Easter hymn, "O, Savior, Thou who wearest a crown of plaited thorns"
Lyrics by Karen Davidson
Music by J.S. Bach, based on a theme by Hans Leo Hassler.
Performed by the Tabernacle Choir from their album O Divine Redeemer from 1992. My Aunt Ruth was in the Choir then.

Good afternoon! Warm but windy. Fire danger is high, so be careful.
Jack doesn't like the roaring wind that make stuff fly around.
Look out for falling branches and make it a kind day.

I am glad to hear your hubby is doing better. Please rake care of yourself.

Alright, fam! My floppy disk Linocut prints are available on my Etsy store. Most of the proceeds go to the fund. Between Etsy’s cut, covering shipping, and materials this is very far from a cash grab. This is the cheapest you will ever get one of my prints. Check it out!

Today's is my favorite song -- "Sing, Sing, Sing" by Benny Goodman and his orchestra -- all 12+ minutes!
A recording of the "first" swing concert, Jan. 16, 1938 at Carnegie Hall.
The legendary musicians: Benny Goodman, Harry James, Lionel Hampton, Gene Krupa, Martha Tilton, Johnny Hodges, Count Basie ...
It doesn't come any better.
Enjoy!

The challenge is to choose 20 albums that greatly influenced my taste in music. One album per day, for 20 consecutive days. No explanations, no reviews, just covers. (Unless you ask...)
Day 20

Happy Opening Day to all you fans out there! Hope is alive as the boys take the fields ...
My team are the MiLB Salem Red Sox.

Good morning, @LlamaMountainStudioArts
Did a dumb thing last night. Went to bed and left poor Lucy Lou outside!
I woke in a panic at 2 a.m., and she was pathetically waiting on the porch for me. Thankfully it was a mild evening with no rain.
Poor baby; she loves being a house dog.
What kind of a dog mom am I?!

Good morning, @Minholkin
I love your sunflower photos; their beauty is amazing. I want to share my sunflower-family photos to return the beauty.
Have a wonderful day.
