Boy, did they ever get this wrong. Asheville was #3 on the list of areas most likely to receive an influx of climate migration. Now they will be leaving.
Lived Asheville 12 years. There was no indication of any weather emergency. In fact, last winter this was total snowfall.
Maybe 1/2” bearly stuck to the grass.
Didn’t really need a winter coat. Sunshine almost daily.
@LnzyHou It is 325 miles by air from where the hurricane made landfall. Everybody who thought just those living at the coastline and along low-lying waterways were in danger now need to look carefully at their infrastructure for disaster.

They mentioned that as Helene was approaching landfall.
@MelissaHDavis @rpardee @LnzyHou Yep. I think Helene stayed a hurricane longer over land though, which accounts for all the downed trees.
