ON this date in 1507 - Leonardo DaVinci was commissioned by the husband of Lisa Gherardini to paint her.
The work is known as the Mona Lisa.
One year to that date before, Bun Man had painted Mona w/ a smile.
Her husband was not pleased. Seems Mona had a gap between her two front teeth, and she was known to be able to spit watermelon seeds 20 feet.
Mona would have been a prized possession in Sussex County DE and parts of Missouri.
ON this date in 1998 - The live Bee Gees album "One Night Only" was released.
Little known fact, the Bee Gees actually got their idea for 'Night Fever' from watching Bun Man and Mr. Purple at a disco.
Bun had his platform shoes on, and Mr. Purple had his I-talian horn necklace on and they wowed the girls big time.
There were also unconfirmed reports Travolta got his inspiration by watching Bun Man dance...
ON this date in 1957 - Sputnik II was launched by the Soviet Union.
It was the second manmade satellite to be put into orbit and was the first to put an animal into space, a dog named Laika.
The Boyz actually emigrated to the USSR prior to this event as they had heard the Russkies were looking for dogs.

Ah, remembering Fall Days back East...
This is a pic from our house looking out on Williams Pond, a pond we shared with another Naut...

IT'S FUNNY WE LOOK AT LIFE THAT WAY
Ken-Dogger: Hey Justus, that’s a look.
Justus: Well, I was wondering about clouds blocking the sun
KD: Clouds getting in your way?
J: Yes, and dreams and schemes and circus crowds
KD: It’s funny we look at life that way…
J: But now old friends are acting strange, they say I’ve changed
KD: Today, a lot will change…
J: It’s life’s illusions we’ll recall, we really don’t know life at all.
(Homage to Joni M)
Ken-Dogger: What cha’ doing?
Rocco: I’m bending these bananas, it’s strength.
KD: A test? Did you know Gandhi once said, “Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will.”
R: Indomitable will? Well, you’ve seen what I’ve done thus far.
KD: Umm, bananas are already bent some, how much WILL was necessary?
R: Strength gave me capacity, but it was WILL which pushed me through.
KD: I think we need both, we just need to summon them at the same time.

Morning Peeps,
Teach 'em the Best You Can...
Wake up everybody no more sleepin in bed
No more backward thinkin time for thinkin ahead
The world has changed so very much
From what it used to be so
There is so much hatred war an' poverty
Wake up all the teachers time to teach a new way
Maybe then they'll listen to whatcha have to say
Cause they're the ones who's coming up and the world is in their hands
When you teach the children teach em the very best you can

As for me, I WILL KEEP PLAYING

"We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing."
- George Bernard Shaw
ON this date in 1937 - The play "I'd Rather be Right" opened in New York City.
The totally awesome play was written by budding playwrights Bun Man and Mr. Purple.
The stellar cast turned out to be all-FEMALE.
The Boyz tried casting MALES for some roles, but they just really didn't seem convincing in the parts.
ON this date in 1721 - Peter the Great (Peter I), ruler of Russia, changed his title to emperor.
Hearing this and not to be outdone, Bun Man, ruler of the West African nation of Neverenuftiti, took counsel from his chief aide, Mr. Purple. Bun's new name would be Papadoc, Emperor for Life, DaDa.
This worked until that fiendish Duvalier in Haiti stole Bun's name in the 21st century...
ON this date in 1963 - The Beach Boys' "Be True To Your School" was released.
Bun Man and Mr. Purple actually sang back-up on this Beach Boy tune but were never credited.
Ultimately, the Boyz decided to remain behind the scenes in their musical career.
Some people get the recognition they deserve, some don't...
You know...
Wavy Gravy gave us NO RAIN at Woodstock...
We should do NO HATE for the next few days until after this election in the USA.
One of my fave Voting Pics
Actually, this is a pic from one of my High School Reunions.
While considered a marginally gifted athlete in my hometown, when the Village Peeps came on and did Y M C A, well, just what freakin' letter do you think I'm showing?
Hence the laughter, I couldn't stop laughing at myself.
The US GOP finds themselves in a self-made trap...
It's always tough when you start to exclude, you never know where to stop.
