No exercising, did someone say no exercising?

That's right, the wrong element mooned Watt. The next day, the ban was lifted. The Boyz--Changing America one moon at a time...

A Bun Man memory

1983 - U.S. Interior Secretary James Watt banned the Beach Boys from the 4th of July celebration on the Washington Mall. He said rock 'n' roll bands attract the "wrong element." Members of the wrong element, Bun Man and Mr. Purple, drove by the White House,...somehow got Watt's attention thru his window (Interior Sec. has 3rd window in from the left when facing north), and Bun mooned him.

Doing our part...Dudes, this is why you marry someone who took HOME ECONOMICS...has pockets inside for sanitation cloth to boost N rating, and fully adjustable...thanks, Mikster

our understanding of Covid-19, so that when it flares locally we would know how to respond in a more nuanced way, rather than shutting society down.

“Presumed positive” may be needed during a period of rationing and shortage. But “Assume you’re positive” as so many New Yorkers are doing is not good individual health care — or good policy.

Elisabeth Rosenthal, former EP physician, now reporter, in NYT on Trump Admin's testing failure...Leaves us unable to categorize effectively for safe re-entry

But there are hundreds of thousands more people who should have been tested at this point, if more tests were available. Testing them would have vastly changed their behavior, their self-care at home, and (perhaps most importantly) ...

Peeps used to fear hearing the words from police, "Assume the position..."

Now, we fear hearing the words "Assume you have it..."

The dread remains the same.

So when you're talking to your 102+ year old Dad, even in the midst of a pandemic, and he says "We've just got to take it one day at a time." That helps me through it too.

His mantra is: “I don’t take responsibility at all.” It remains to be seen whether voters will buy his excuses. But whatever happens in November, Trump cannot escape the pitiless judgment of history.

James Buchanan is relieved...

Max Boot in WaPo...

Countries as diverse as Taiwan, Singapore, Canada, South Korea, Georgia and Germany have done far better — and will suffer far less. South Korea and the United States discovered their first cases on the same day. South Korea now has 183 dead — or 4 deaths per 1 million people. The U.S. death ratio (25 per 1 million) is six times worse — and rising quickly.

Prices fell more than wages, raising labor costs and frustrating firms’ efforts to resume production. Idle workers and idle machines pushed prices down, delaying the recovery. We cannot let it happen again.

Robert Samuelson in WaPo on the deflation danger...We need crisis managers, not actors playing government officials...

The Great Depression provides evidence of deflation’s damaging effects. Agricultural prices collapsed, making it harder for farmers to pay their debts. Mortgages went into default by the thousands.

We are not even at the end of the beginning of the crisis. Trump’s actions going forward will matter. However, his slow start and continued erratic presence may very well haunt him, causing all but his core base to throw up their hands in horror and disgust. Facts matter. And right now, the facts are grim.

Jen Rubin on Trump's CV ratings bump...

Noticeably, “the majority of white non-college Americans, a usually supportive group, say they are seriously concerned that Trump downplayed the threat of coronavirus early on.” Trump’s personal qualities are shining through — and that is bad news for him. “While 61% say Trump is unprepared, 52% say he is ‘chaotic’ and ‘erratic,’ and 51% say he is ‘irresponsible.’ ”

“that light at the end of the tunnel will . . . be the proverbial train coming at us.” Yes, and she signaled Friday that she was willing to put off some of her more ambitious aspirations if Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell agreed on the need to build on the existing rescue program.

McConnell, having earlier resisted a new bill, said he was ready to do business.

Okay, so what kind of legislative body does one thing and then says "Okay, we fixed it..." That's right, that's the US Senate

So who will shepherd us through?

Get your butts back to DC and remain there and work legislation through which saves America...

Too much to ask?
