Canada Railroad Stoppage
Over 9,000 rail workers were locked out of Canada's two major railroads yesterday amid failed contract negotiations with the Teamsters union. The stoppage is expected to cost roughly $750M per day and potentially disrupt US-Canada trade, 14% of which stems from Canada's rail network. Canada's government announced it would force the parties into arbitration.

ON this date in 1959 - In the Peanuts comic strip, Sally debuted as an infant.
After input from Bun Man and Mr. Purple, Schulz would give Sally a 'take it easy' attitude and even adopt some of the Boyz' famous philosophies like "No" and "Who Cares" and "Why Me" and "How should I know"; but her real skill was in speaking controversial French which the Boyz had to politely tell her was conversational French.
Bun Man, Mr. P and I were just perusing some of the pics posted and Bun asked if he could get his pic posted...
He said, "What w/ all the dames talking about how cute the doggies are, and since Mr. Purple and I are resident dogs, why can't we get our pic posted so the femmes could say "He's so cute, I just wanna scratch behind his ears and snuggle w/ him."
Mr. P and I looked at him and, in unison, said "Seriously?"
ON this date in 2008 - Madonna began her "Sticky & Sweet" tour.
The Boyz signed on for the tour as Roadies, a task they love.
When it began to get around that Bun Man and Mr. P were making inroads w/ Madonna and that really Bun was Sticky and Mr. Purple was Sweet, the Boyz decided to jump ship early.
When the tour ended it was the highest grossing tour on record.
When the Boyz left the tour, it was remembered as their grossest thing they had done in a long while...
