According to the group’s report, “[i]n no state, metropolitan area, or county in the U.S. can a worker earning the federal or prevailing state or local minimum wage afford a modest two-bedroom rental home at fair market rent by working a standard 40-hour work week.”

Judd L on Affordable Housing
The real housing crisis
Nationwide, rising housing costs coupled with stagnant wages has left millions of Americans homeless or on the brink of losing their homes. Today, a full-time worker would need to make more than three times the federal minimum wage – $23.67 – to afford a “modest one-bedroom rental home,” the National Low Income Housing Coalition (NLIHC) found.

ON this date in 1885 - Eastman Kodak (Eastman Dry Plate and Film Co.) produced the first commercial motion picture film in Rochester, NY.
Starring Bun Man and Mr. Purple and a couple of 'ladies of the night', the 'smoker' was not a commercial success, but was passed around a lot of volunteer fire companies and frat houses.
Still don't know why the Boyz had those bars across their eyes in their shots.

SOME NAUTS JUST HAVE A POSITIVE MINDSET ALL THE TIME, WE CALL 'EM MINI-MINS.
ON this date in 1969 - The TV movie "Marcus Welby" was seen on ABC-TV.
It was later turned into a series.
Bun Man and Mr. Purple wrote many scripts for the show as they enjoyed exploring the generation gap between Drs. Welby and Kiley and their 'different' approaches to medicine.
This was a time when you actually thought TV doctors knew their 'shit' as opposed to today's OZ-LAND TV.
ON this date in 1972 - The Los Angeles Lakers broke a National Basketball Association (NBA) record by winning 69 of their 82 games.
Assistant Coaches Bun Man and Mr. Purple encouraged the team to win more, but Wilt Chamberlain was on the team and given Wilt's prowess w/ the ladies, he felt 69 was a good number.
It just worked for him...
The Boyz took their championship rings that year and moved on.
To think, professional athletes not giving their 'all' every game...
The Horror!
ON this date in 1910 - The U.S. Congress passed an amendment to the 1907 Immigration Act that barred criminals, paupers, anarchists and carriers of disease from settling in the U.S.
Years later, Democratic Senators Bun Man and Mr. Purple were quietly amused as their Republican counterparts scurried around to change this act.

IN LIFE'S THREADS, BE A WEAVER
Becoming Weavers as we make threads together. SDO says it well.
Historybook: RIP poet Walt Whitman (1892); HBD Sandra Day O'Connor, first female US Supreme Court justice (1930)
"We don't accomplish anything in this world alone ... and whatever happens is the result of the whole tapestry of one's life and all the weavings of individual threads from one to another that creates something."

Morning Peeps,
Ken-Dogger: Morning Pecos
Pecos: Riddle me this Dogger, what’s a disposition?
KD: Well, it’s a mindset, a person’s inherent qualities of mind and character.
P: Wow, all that.
KD: Yep, all that. But why are you asking?
P: Some peeps just seem cheery a lot, some always seem down.
KD: Ahh, you’re thinking there might be some control and will there, huh?
P: I’m just thinkin’…

MORE GOLF Highlights
Got another Eagle!!
Got it on the same hole as the previous Eagle, but this time I didn't have to share with a golfer who got an Albatross on the same hole at the same time.
By the way, in over 40 years on the PGA Tour, there have been only 130 Albatrosses ever. That is how rare that shot is...An Eagle is two under par, an Albatross is three under par, freakin' otherworldly.
So, in the last month, I've had a Hole in One and two Eagles.
Just like every other red-blooded US citizen today, we went lottery shopping. Although, we have to travel to Arizona to get them (30 minutes away). We came back on the Old Spanish Trail, Route 91 from Littlefield AZ to Santa Clara UT. THIS was the reward. Old Spanish Trail, Route 91 from Littlefield AZ to Santa Clara UT. THIS was the Reward.
