After Trump won in 2016, he nominated several right-wing judges to the Supreme Court, and now there are no federal protections for abortion rights. As a result, women are dying. Those federal protections would still exist if there had been a different outcome in 2016.

Judd Legum on Election Impact

In a wild presidential election featuring dozens of criminal felony charges, fallacious claims about election fraud, and sexist invective, it's easy to forget a fundamental truth: The real impact of the election will be expressed through changes to federal law and policy.

WE ARE DISGUSTING IN WHAT WE ALLOW...

When the polls close on this doozy of a day, it’ll mark two things: 1) No more texts begging you to save democracy for $5 (for now) and 2) the most expensive election season in American history is finally ending.

A projected $15.9 billion has been dumped into the presidential and congressional campaigns on the ballot today, according to the nonpartisan nonprofit OpenSecrets.

ON this date in 1995 - "The Wizard of Oz in Concert" took place for a Children's Defense Fund.

The show featured Jackson Browne as the Scarecrow, Roger Daltrey as the Tin Man, Nathan Lane as the Cowardly Lion and Jewel as Dorothy.

Bun Man and Mr. Purple got roles in the Lollipop Guild and stole the show--quintessential munchkins; so disappointed when the show cancelled the US tour.

JUST GIVE ME THAT SWEET SOUL MUSIC

Recently in the gym, I've listened to soul music, this am, it was Kool & The Gang Radio on Spotify.

Soul music does indeed cleanse the soul, it is IMO the most loving music there is (I'm sure gospel fans are apoplectic right now) and I think one of the most compelling aspects of this music is it comes from people who have been treated horribly and unequally for centuries, and yet they find a way to love and to cherish and to have faith...

Sweet soul music
