We got here largely via a PROTEST VOTE...
US citizens had a chance to save democracy, but they chose to protest selection processes rather than save a country.
@Madken65 Isn't it antithetical to claim that by practicing Democracy people doomed Democracy. Isn't Democracy all about giving power to the people, and because people made a choice that is contrary to your views, does that equate the end of Democracy?

In the current scenario, given the past history of the successful candidate, yes, indeed it does equate to the end of democracy.
But, it's just my opinion.
