πŸ˜‚ Entirely possible that my writing for the day was derailed by a request that I take up for . Which I will!

(Shameless here.)

I'm going to be reviewing each episode specifically to talk about how they are: that is, how well they advance nuanced thinking around the weekly crisis.

The GEEKIEST of intros to these reviews tomorrow!

But... now back to my original deep dive into histories of personhood. πŸ™ƒ

(I am large, I contain multitudes.)

πŸ‘‹ Morning, ! Putting on my hat--

Today for , I've written an explainer on aspects of the uterus and human reproduction that you probably didn't learn in school (and maybe don't even know now!).

Whenever bodies are politicized, the mere act of talking about them starts to seem loaded, which is dangerous. We should be able to talk calmly and compassionately about every part of the human experience.

I hope this piece can help inform your advocacy!

All right! hat on again this morning. πŸ—ΊοΈ

Finally finished off my Fascism in India series for , with a look at how Hindu customs are weaponized by extremists to further their nationalist ends.

(Anyone who knows their history of fascism will recognize this phenomenon from, oh, an event or two before!)

Next up -- research on Afghan refugees in lesser known sanctuary countries! (Okay, breakfast first. But THEN research!)

, & then

Morning & happy Monday, ! πŸ‘‹

The columnist in me talking now: Today for , I'm back to the "light" stuff: Part 3 of 4 on Fascism in India. Today I talk about the broader turn to nationalist politics that's helped to embolden fascism's rise in India. Not happy about breaking my "No Mentioning [X] US politician in print" rule (we hates the algorithm boost that this gives the name online, we really do!), but this was important.

Cheers, world watchers! onlysky.media/mclark/fascism-i

πŸ‘‹ Hi ! So on top of writing scifi stories and essays, I always have a bundle of thoughts that I don't quite know where to place--which is why I started a newsletter last year, "Threedom!", that groups all sorts of different topics into "threes" each month.

This month, , article, and cultural analysis are joined with word of some incredible outreach initiatives, and... a ridiculous anecdote about a Bad Date. Skip around if you like! Enjoy, if you do! threedom.substack.com/p/threed

Hi folks! πŸ‘‹ I'm going to be writing soon on my first week on for , the secular news media platform where I write on issues. I really want to share the love, optimism, & potential of this place.

Seasoned hands & fellow newbies! What site features, aesthetics, histories, & cultural tidbits would you like to see celebrated in any write-ups of this platform? What should people know right off the bat when diving in? πŸ‘€

(& thank you thank you thank you! πŸ€—πŸ’« )

YAY! πŸŽ‰ I'm so thrilled to have folks joining me here! ! Can you help me in welcoming a new face?

I'd like to introduce @lincolnandrews, a wonderful fellow who loves , and who is a survivor who writes the most poignant pieces about the loss of son, and about the importance of how we talk about , , , and . You can find his work here. Give him a πŸ‘‹ and a πŸ€— if you see him posting here!

As a , I write for on global issues and the importance of rethinking how we do discourse (so CoSo is perfect 😍 !).

I've written on the dangers of war mythology, bad histories of progress, oil imperialism, Palestine, West African money rituals, illegal mining in Venezuela & Colombia, the war in Tigray, the importance of decolonizing archaeology... & I'm currently running a 4-parter fascism in India.

Looking forward to meeting other global humanists! πŸ—ΊοΈ onlysky.media/mclark/fascism-i

I don't see hashtags for a few communities of interest to me, so I might as well get the conversation started. I'm a , and I write about at . I'm also a , and my current work in involves the novels and short stories of a classic Colombian writer (nope, not that one! there are others!). Any other humanists about? Or translators?
