I struggle with, but am definitely doing my best, to get on board with 'they' as a singular pronoun, in support of a family member. It's just a grammar thing for me. I support non-gender specific everything, always have. I'm all for equality in every way. Even the Oxford Dictionary has changed 'they' to be either singular or plural. It's just weird on my ears to hear a sentenced structured as if 'many' are being discussed when it's only 'one'. Am getting there. (I was an English major)
