A gunman went on a rampage Wednesday morning in Southeast D.C., shooting people seemingly at random after altercations on a public bus and at the Potomac Avenue Metro station. Three people were injured, and a metro employee is dead. The syspected shooter, Isaiah Trotman, was tackled by passengers on the Metro train.

I was able to make some good friendships during the 6 years of being the president of our Democratic Women club. The oldest member was 89 when we met. She has always been a strong Democrat and Union supporter. During covid I made sure to stay in touch with her. I called her at least twice a week and sent greeting cards to her. Gayle lives on her own and drives. When she fell and had to be in a care home for a while she didn't like the food so I made sure to bring her a meal each day.
