Alas and alack. I wanted cookies but my faithful stand mixer that has gone globe-trotting with me since 2014 died today. Dramatically, too. The glass mixing bowl cracked and is fused to the mixer stand.

@janallmac It's on my list of places to go. I have a friend in South Africa who keeps trying to get me down there. But I haven't made it yet.

@AskTheDevil It's a sacred herb in multiple cultures. It is also a vile threat to someone who doesn't want to be kissed by strangers and who hates December holidays.

I've been actively part of publishing since 2009. My last book came out in February, the next comes out in December, I have another scheduled for release Summer of 2025. I have an agent. I'm a fully professional author.

I don't write every day.

Do I want a 2-day vacation with my hubby for my birthday or a party with my friends? Because of time constraints and scheduling I probably can't do both.

@Oma_Trisha Some people can hold a whole story in their brain in one go. I'm just not that brain type.

@Oma_Trisha I don't have that skill. Some of my friends do, but I need to step back and look at it. And I keep drafts so I can pull things from older copies if I don't like the changes.

Friend: Why did you leave a review for that book?

Me: Which book?

Friend: The one that came out 12 hours ago.

Me: Because I liked it. Why shouldn't I leave a review?

Friend: When did you read?

Me: When it came out. Twelve hours ago. I finished it before bed last night.

@joycereynoldsward I have four books outlined and ready to go. I don't lack ideas, I'm dithering over which to work on first because all of them are uncontracted.

@Oma_Trisha I know a few writers who can pull that off. I need at least 3-5 drafts to clean up my work.

Yesterday's questions was "How do I add alt text to image data so I don't need to re-add it with every upload?" and one of my friends has what may be the answer. I'm going to investigate this later today and I'll let you know what I find.
