In my friend's defense, she thought I was still stateside and didn't know I was back in Seoul.

Now I need to figure out how we can meet up before she flies out.

One of the weird things that happens when you move a lot and you have friends who also travel a lot is that sometimes you wind up in the same city as a friend on accident. Today that means flipping through a friend's photos and realizing they're in Seoul this week and I wasn't tracking that.

@feloneouscat My first drafts are messy, but I've been in and around publishing long enough that I know how to take an edit and my published work is usually very good. There's always room for improvement, but I like it well enough.

@nonayadambidnes The green cover is to match the books in the rest of the series. They all have odd background colors. The 2025 one will be yellow and the 2026 book will be orange and everyone can have a rainbow on their shelf.

@feloneouscat There's a limited number of good stock illustrations available and I write because I can't draw.

It's time for some cover art testing!

This is for ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS A CRYPTID. Which cover makes you want to learn more about the book?

Husband: It's July!

Me: *turning on sun lamp and heater in my office*

Husband: We're in the northern hemisphere. It's summer.

Me: It's rainy and the AC is on. What's the difference between summer in this and winter?

Husband: *hands me a blanket*

Quick reminder to all my readers out there that PRICE OF THE MOUNTAIN LILY is out and you can buy it anywhere you get books. It's a rags-to-riches romance perfect for fans of whip-smart main characters with hidden identities and secrets aplenty.

I had a very productive day and it still doesn't feel productive because I didn't get what I wanted to do (curing cancer and inventing immortality) done.

*grumps*

Me: DERTH is too a word!

Dictionary: That hasn't been the proper spelling since 1590!

Me: So??? That's not so long ago!

Math: Well, actually...

Me: -_-

Me: Fine, I'll add the A.

@Tattoomonkey29 I read just about everything. And I mislike the reviews claiming a YA book has teen characters who act like teens.

@Tattoomonkey29 Some people don't want to admit that not everything in the world is created for them. The sooner they figure it out, the sooner they'll have peace.

@Tattoomonkey29 It feels obvious, doesn't it?

And yet I keep finding YA books marked with bad reviews because the teenage characters were written as teens and the plots seem simplistic.

@corlin I like CoSo, but I can't get local flood updates here. BlueSky isn't perfect yet either, and doesn't have the range Twitter had, but it's the one that's most like Twitter right now.

If you keep leaving reviews on YA books saying the characters seem immature and childish... maybe stop reading books about kids? There's an amazing range of books written with adult characters who act like adults. If the teenage heroes in YA books aren't mature enough for you, try not reading YA.

There are people here I will absolutely miss and come back to check on, but I can't keep three social sites running and I need access to local Korean news that I'm not finding here.

After a month away I'm not seeing the value-add of posting on here regularly and I'm finding much more traction (and book sales) on Bluesky. I will probably continue to post general updates, sales news, ect here but will otherwise be using Bluesky predominantly.

Two repair guys are arguing in Korean over my shower and it doesn't sound optimistic.

Let's be grateful the showers at the local pool are working and move on.

I'm heading out to the airport and I'll be back in a few weeks. Updates will be on BlueSky.

I would have loved having someone younger and more in tune than Biden. It's not an option in 2024, so we move on.

We're voting Biden because the other option is a literal criminal and traitor who hates Americans and wants to take away basic human rights.

Cope with Biden, 2028 will be better.
