@Dwumblord Valid point on democracy. Did not Democrats try to manipulate...really steer/control it last time themselves?
@Dwumblord I see his popularity. I just saw his party not care last time, so it's hard to understand the motivation to get behind him again. How can you trust the party to do it right this time?
@Dwumblord I get where you're coming from. It just amazes me that the candidate already wronged by his party has the same traction.
If Bernie is running as a Democrat and is for the people.... something has to give.
@Dwumblord I'm not sure he's the front runner so much as the only one running this time who also ran last time. I would sooner expect someone a little more moderate is put up just to help the most people actually go left. Have someone further left after. But who knows who the DNC will throw their support behind this time.
@Beaker96 agree on all counts. Question not about which party someone is a part of, but a given party's previous treatment of given candidate who was running as said party.
@Dwumblord was he a popular write in during the last election?
I understand the reasons to vote for him. They make sense! I'm just having a hard time getting over the idea of voting for him again when thr party thwarted him once already. Maybe the new DNC leadership helps though...
Curious if anyone is still open/considering voting for Bernie despite what his own party (well...what he runs as for president) did to him last time? I get if you like him the most...and if they did it to one, they could do it to anyone...but I'm trying to put myself in that position and trying to reconcile the idea of voting for someone already plotted against by "his own" party. Hard for me to find adequate reason.
@th3j35t3r don't take this away from me!
(Seriously though, did they not provide him a fire extinguisher?)
Curious for the room's take on Gabbard and Buttigieg.
No arguments-just civility and your reasons for liking or not. Explanations for your reasonings are welcomed. Kind of a "why is that your preference?". Simply out of curiosity, not antagonizing. You don't have to explain...I might ask if you don't, but you can reply however you'd like.
Thanks!
@corlin which is something that is frowned upon by liberal voters...? Do her voters actually like her then or is she just the better option?
The genuineness of poor assistance is an easier one for me to see the flaws in.
@corlin follow up: when you say she likes money a little too much...does that mean she is willing to take contributions from anyone? Just making sure I'm following accurately.
@corlin she has struck me as being more moderate than most of the democrats. It is good to hear that her constituents like her though (I'm reading that correct, yes?)! Huge plus!
Warren seemed like a logical choice for a while, but I don't think the genealogy did her any favors. I think Biden is the best option for democrats to best Trump. Have him only do one term and have one of these others get groomed in that 4 years.
@ChippySuave haha, I had lost track! 5/18 does make him a stand out. Guess I was just wondering what separated him from clear #1.
My thought process has drifted towards Biden being the easiest to beat Trump. Have him only do one term and let Pete, Gabbard, or another democrat in this field rise and be groomed for 4 years.
@corlin cool! I feel like Gabbard meets a few of those same points that Pete does though?
@ChippySuave why no for Gabbard?
Top 5 makes me think you're not sold on Buttigieg either?
