Sounds like Harper is getting booed in his return to DC. I get it, but brutal still.

...also-that was only the video package pregame. Imagine when he struts his ugly beard to the plate.

The Winter is Coming meme... only with April Fool's jokes.

What's great about Mets starting the season so well is that....they're starting the season this well.

What's not great is remembering the sharp decline that began after the first ten games last year.

I can't ask for 10-1 again, but 7-3 with a matching tone over the next 161 (adding playoffs) games would be fantastic.

Tune into Met/Nats and I'm pretty sure it comes on as Ramos swings for a 2 rbi double. I barely catch up and McNeil fires an rbi triple to right center.

Mets struck out twice before that? I don't know what you're talking about....

Billboard
VMAs
Grammy's

I know not the difference.

@amarand true, but there is no good way to get everyone behind Secretaries and cabinet members.

I'd love for candidates to pick their whole team before an election so it was a point to vote on, but that's just havoc. "I love what this person's platform is, but their Treasury secretary is trash"

Appointees rarely don't pass Congress, so it feels like a border line waste.

This whole special Olympics thing...
1. Funding issue should have never been a thing

2. It kills me that we have a president who nobody believes would reverse a decision like that. More believed to be a good cop/bad cop orchestration for his benefit.

Above...a lot of other stuff (not prepared to say all else)...I'm ready for a president the whole country can actually get behind. No voting to spite another, voting because you actually like someone.

Work day:
*wakes up at 430. Barely. Checks clock. Too early to get ready, too late to go back to sleep. Too tired to maintain consious... ALARM ALARM ALARM...now I'm even more tired* (I also hate waking up to my alarm)

Day off:
Brain: IT'S 430, ARE YOU READY TO GET THINGS DONE?!
Stomach: I require attention.
Bladder: hi.

Love seeing the inflated stat projections from one day of baseball. cyGrom and Mad Max on track for a gazillion strikeouts a piece. One on track for 30 wins. Folks like Cano (and half the Dodger line up) in line for sooooo many home runs. And don't even get me started on teams looking at 162-0 seasons.

Baseball is here. Enjoy your summer.

Happy Opening Day!

...on a Thursday...at 1....

Having opening day on a Thursday is one thing, but having the game be in the middle of the friggin day is another. So much for WATCHING cyGrom vs Mad Max...

@stueytheround I heard part of it and tried listening to the lyrics and then I looked them up. 90% of it is "rape me" with a few other lines that sound intended to provide a victim empowerment narrative...but it's just not THAT obvious to me, hence my toot starting this.

@Old_Dave you know, I get it. I understand what they were going for, but it doesn't scream that to me. At the very least I feel like the song makes you wonder and you're forced to go look it up. IE: "it can't go THAT way, can it? Must Google!"

This is leads to my initial question because cancel culture seems largely knee jerk. Though not to say underserved in the long or short...it's very reactionary.

@Virusb23 victims that have identified with it?

My other thought is because of how Kurt is still celebrated because of musical contributions and his tragic story as well as Courtney Love (by proxy?) still being alive, people just don't have there.

Rape Me by Nirvana came on the radio and I might be a little surprised that cancel culture hasn't gotten to it yet. Is there something about it that I'm missing?

I'm still not convinced Marvel didn't play a part in the Sony hack. I mean, they got the deal for Spider Man as a result.

12:02 am this morning (Wednesday), Disney officially acquired Fox.

Base still semi flooded, but back to normal ops. Roads and towns recently inaccessible are now open again. It may be raining a little today, but flood waters have not only crested, they have begun to recede.

Based on what I've read, flood Waters in Nebraska have crested (barring an ice jam) and will begin to recede Thursday. See my previous toots for more on just how bad the flood is.

In an effort to show exactly what the rivers have done to the larger Omaha area, here are some gifs. Please excuse the bird site link. twitter.com/CopernicusEU/statu

The community has pulled together like you can only hope. Many mentions of blankets, water, and Gatorade being sold out in stores.
